Religious Education at Shinfield St Mary’s CE Junior School

As a Church of England school, we celebrate the wonder of faith and the world around us and our vision highlights our belief that diversity is to be celebrated and respected. We support children with a faith and those with none and explore religions and worldviews in our global communities. We encourage self-reflection in encountering big questions about ourselves, our interaction in the world and reflections of faith communities.  We take our responsibilities as custodians of the Earth seriously and look to learn about how we can care for each other and the environment to make a difference in the world.

In a diverse and ever-changing world, it is essential that we grow in our understanding of ourselves and those around us. Religious Education remains an essential element of the curriculum and contributes to the personal and intellectual development of young people.
