26th June 2017

On Monday 26th June, an excited group of Year 3 and Year 4 children attended the first ever Change4Life Festival at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre. The 40 strong group, supported by 6 leaders from Year 6, arrived with much excitement with only a few nerves floating around. The children engaged in a host of activities: trampolining, table tennis, gymnastics, martial arts, tennis and Zumba. It was fantastic to see so many children enjoying themselves being active and trying new sports. Whiteknights and Nine Mile Ride Primary School were also in attendance and the children from all three schools were mixed together into groups - staff were extremely pleased to see so many children collaborating together and new friendships sprung up between the schools throughout the day! The Year 6 leaders were then treated to their own spin class – lots of tired bodies exited the spin room! Each child received a Change4Life goodie bag at the end of the day, donated by Wokingham.

Mr Lappin hopes that the Change4Life Festival has encouraged the children to consider signing up for sports clubs next academic year, now that they have had such a positive experience playing sport with their friends.
