Year 4/5/6 Boys’ Football Season Ends

20th March 2019

We have reached the end of the football season for the Upper School boys and after a successful two terms, the Year 6 boys wave goodbye to their Year 4 and 5 teammates and move on to pastures new. The team have gelled together under the guidance of Mr Lincoln, developing into a competent passing team and improving their football brains in the process. The results since September have been mixed however and the boys finished a disappointing third in their Autumn Term division due to a couple of comprehensive defeats but they really knuckled down in training post-Christmas in response. This resulted in two confident wins this term, albeit against weaker opposition than the boys were used to, and showed flashes of free-flowing, confident football. Mr Lappin would like to thank the Year 6 boys for their continued commitment over the four years they have played in the school team and he hopes to hear of their successes for their new schools. The Year 4 and 5 boys have a bright season ahead of them next year during the rebuilding of the team, but it is a challenge that we know they will relish!
