Parent Support Adviser

Shinfield St. Mary’s Parent Support Adviser is available to:
  • Offer friendly, informal, confidential support and advice to families
  • Help families get the most out of school life
Parent Support Advisers are not just available for the children and young people in your family but for the adults too!

Aims of the Parent Support Adviser:
  • To build parents & carers confidence to deal with difficult parenting issues and behaviours
  • To strengthen relationships and communication between home, school and other professionals
  • To encourage involvement in school activities
  • To help parents & carers support their children with their learning
The Parent Support Adviser will:
  • Offer one to one support for children, young people and parents
  • Provide access to parenting workshops
  • Provide information on other services and support available in the Wokingham Borough
Providing access to support & advice on:
  • Adult Learning
  • Parenting Workshops
  • Behaviour Management
  • Holiday events & activities
  • Diet & nutrition
  • Speech & language
  • Applying for a school place
  • Transition
  • ………. and much more!
As parents and carers there are times when you need a little extra support and guidance, someone to talk to and point you in the right direction. Someone who’s non-judgmental, will listen and offer practical advice and support.

I will do whatever I can to help you and if I can’t then I probably know someone that can!
